On Thursday, May 24, 2018 the 2017 Drinking Water Quality Report for the City of East Lansing and Meridian Township was released.
The report must be available to the public by July 1, 2018. The City of East Lansing and Meridian Township have posted the report to their respective websites.
The State and EPA require water to be tested on a regular basis to ensure its safety. The Meridian Township – East Lansing Water Sewer Authority met all monitoring and reporting requirements for 2017. The testing period was from January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2017. The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is an annual water quality report that a community water system is required to provide to its customers. The CCR helps people make informed choices about the water they drink. They let people know what contaminants if any, are in their drinking water, and how these contaminants may affect their health. CCRs also give the system a chance to tell customers what it takes to deliver safe drinking water.
Through this testing, the Authority verified that the water consistently meets state and federal drinking water standards. Tables on pages 3 and 4 list some constituents that were detected, and show what the regulatory limits are. No contaminant concentration exceeds regulatory limits. This report is updated annually and The Authority will keep you informed of any problems that may occur throughout the year, as they happen.
