On your next visit to the Harris Nature Center, check out the new Boulder Garden Interpretive Signs.
The four signs show each group of boulders: igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary, and give the name of each rock as well as several interesting facts about the rock group.
“We’re very happy with the way the signs turned out,” commented geology volunteers, Bob Reszka and Steve Wilson.
The Boulder Garden is located in the center of the parking circle near the nature building and the park is open from dawn to dusk every day.
The Boulder Garden and interpretive signs were made possible by donations from Central Michigan Lapidary and Mineral Society, Sunrise Aggregates, Steve Wilson, and volunteer time from Brian Van Order, Michigan Demolition and Excavation, Bob Reszka, Ron Elowski, and Steve Wilson.
