Meridian Township Police Investigate Child Sexual Abuse Incident
Subject in Custody and Arraigned
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, MI - On April 9, 2019, three minor females were approached by an unknown male in the 4800 block of Marsh Road in Okemos. The man asked them if they wanted to film an adult movie in his van. The females ran away and contacted Meridian Township Police. Officers surveyed the area and were unable to locate the subject. A bulletin was sent to area law enforcement agencies attempting to locate the subject and the van involved.
On May 5, 2019, Meridian Township Police were dispatched to the 4800 block of Marsh Road in Okemos after a loss prevention officer recognized the subject from the April 9th incident. The suspect was running after a female to catch up to her. Officers located and identified the male as Thomas Allen Thrush, 39 years old. During the investigation, Thrush fled from officers as they began to question him. Officers apprehended Thrush after a short foot chase. Thrush is currently lodged at the Ingham County Jail with a $75,000 cash or surety bond and $500 bond with conditions of no unsupervised contact with a person under the age of 18.
On May 7, 2019, Thrush was arraigned out of 55th District Court and charged with two crimes:
1 count of Child Sexual Abusive Activity
1 count of Resisting and Obstructing
Thrush’s van is a 2002 white Ford Windstar with gray along the bottom and tinted rear windows.
