A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the Marketplace on the Green (1995 Central Park Drive, Okemos) on Friday, August 1 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm to celebrate the donation of a communication board from the Xavier DeGroat Autism Foundation.

This communication board has been personalized with Meridian Township images and graphics, and will help bridge the communication gap between nonspeaking or minimally speaking individuals. Communication boards display photos, symbols, or illustrations to help people with limited spoken language ability express themselves by gesturing or pointing to the images to communicate.

There will also be food and drinks available at the event.
