Join us at Ted Black Woods (4714 Van Atta Rd.) to steward the park and remove some invasive shrub species! We will be working up a sweat in the chilly weather by sawing or cutting invasive shrubs and improving wildlife habitat throughout the park. Reminder that removals and habitat restoration is a little wilder and takes place among downed logs and woody debris. Please be prepared to walk over uneven terrain and go off trail. We will provide all tools and will talk about why invasive species are harmful to our local natural areas. No experience is necessary; we would love to teach you about the value of stewardship! Join us in the woods to connect, learn, and conserve. 

Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!

Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome.
