Stewardship Saturday

Join us at Lake Lansing North Preserve (1000 Wild Ginger Trail) to gather under the falling leaves and collect native plant seeds! We will be walking the preserve and collecting seeds from native plant populations we have been stewarding and restoring over the past few years. Remember that native habitat restoration work can be a little wilder and takes place among downed logs and woody debris. Please be prepared to walk over uneven terrain and go off trail. We will provide all tools and will talk about why native plants are so important to our local natural areas. No experience is necessary; we would love to teach you about native plants and seed collecting! Join us in the woods to connect, learn, and conserve.

Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!

Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call/text at 517.897.3610. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
