CANCELED - Stewardship Saturday

UPDATE (1/22)

The Stewardship Saturday event scheduled for Saturday, January 24 has been canceled due to expected low temperatures. We apologize for any inconvenience!

Join MCC in the spruce forest to cut and remove invasive shrubs and bittersweet vines! They have been working on this site since 2020, making amazing headway to restore its native habitat. No experience is necessary, and all tools are provided. Please dress for the weather and note that all outdoor events may be cancelled up to an hour before.

Stewardship Saturdays occur every other Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at a different location. Help the Meridian Conservation Corps restore habitat across our parks and preserves through activities like invasive plant removal and sowing native seeds. Stewardship workdays are a great way to get outdoors and improve our community!

Participants are encouraged to pre-register but walk-ins are welcome. To register, or for more information, please contact Land Stewardship Coordinator Emma Campbell at ecampbell@meridian.mi.us or call/text at 517.897.3610. All workdays are outdoors and may be canceled due to inclement weather. If you would like to join the Meridian Conservation Corps to receive email updates on future stewardship events and get MCC swag, visit the Meridian Conservation Corps webpage to sign up.
