Meridian Township will celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rat, with a parade, music, dancing, singing, games and more! Join us on Sunday, Jan. 26th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Meridian Mall, 1982 Grand River Ave.
Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival, has more than 4,000 years of history. It is the grandest and most celebrated festival of the Chinese tradition. The Rat is the first in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiacs. The Years of the Rat include 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020, 2032, etc.
