North Meridian Road Park was acquired in 1991 and has 40.6 acres of upland habitat and 19.4 acres of wetlands. The 2 miles of trails in this park take you through a remnant prairie with a high diversity of plant life; woodlands that offer shade and sights of early spring wildflowers such as Bloodroot and Spring Beauty; or a sunny open meadow with views of bluebirds, butterflies, and many other insects enjoying the late summer flowers. Other amenities in North Meridian Road Park include athletic fields, sand volleyball courts, a sledding hill, play equipment, year-round heated restrooms, and a pavilion.
A new pavilion was recently added to North Meridian Road Park funded by a grant from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund. This grant also paid for an accessible picnic table and a barbecue grill.
Located at 5191 N. Meridian Road, this 60-acre park is a popular four-seasons park. In winter, families love going down the sledding hill, hiking and cross-country skiing, along the two miles of nature trails.
North Meridian Road Park has been designated as Meridian Township's Night Sky Viewing Park and is open from dawn until 11:00 pm every day.
