Post Date:09/27/2018

The 2018 Deer Management Program will begin Monday, October 1st and will continue throughout the archery hunting season until January 1st.

The 2018 season welcomes an additional 8 properties in Meridian Township. This year's program includes 39 total hunting properties, a total of 2,329 acres, and 75 hunters.

As part of the Deer Management Program, Meridian Township is working with Michigan State University and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to track and manage deer with Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). Residents can help fight CWD by reporting suspicious looking deer to the DNR Wildlife Disease Lab at 517.339.5030

Report Road-Killed Deer
Residents in and around Meridian Township can report road-killed deer to the Michigan DNR's CWD Roadkill Hotline at 517.614.9602.

Calls or texts can be placed any time of the day and staff will attempt to pick up carcasses on the next open business day. Residents are reminded that feeding and baiting of deer is strictly prohibited by the Michigan DNR.
