Registration Now Open for Meridian Township’s Small Dog Park

Residents Can Register Their Small Dog Ahead of June 19th Grand Opening

Post Date:06/10/2019 4:30 PM

Registrations are now being accepted for Meridian Township’s new off-leash, Small Dog Park. The ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration for the park will take
place on Wednesday, June 19th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Nancy Moore Park (1960 Gaylord C. Smith Court).

Registration will ensure the Township’s ability to provide a safe environment for off-leash dog play areas for users. This process requires owners to provide proof that their dog is licensed with the county and has a current rabies vaccination. Dog Park fees cover one year of registration.

To register, residents must visit the Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department at the Meridian Service Center (2100 Gaylord C. Smith Court, Haslett) during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. To offer more registration opportunities, the Meridian Service Center will also be open on Saturday, June 15th and Saturday, June 22nd from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Registrations will also be accepted during the ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration on Wednesday, June 19th. Registration must be completed in-person to verify documents and to provide the registrant with the electronic key fob to enter the Small Dog Park.

The annual fees are as follows:

Meridian Township Resident
Dog #1: $20
Dog #2: $15

Non-Township Resident
Dog #1: $35
Dog #2: $20

The park is located just east of the parking lot and features a paved pathway for accessibility. The 1-acre space will include open areas and agility equipment.
