Election Inspectors Needed for August 6th Election

The Meridian Township Clerk’s Office is looking to expand its team of election inspectors with basic computer skills, attention to detail and who also enjoy working with the public for the upcoming August 6th Election.

“Election Inspectors play a vital role in our democratic process and ensure the voices of citizens are heard,” said Meridian Township Clerk Brett Dreyfus. “By carefully following the procedures set by election law, Election Inspectors protect voters’ rights and secure accurate election results.”

Election Inspectors are paid $11/hour and have the option of working a full day (6:00 am - 10:00 pm) or a half-day (beginning at 1:30 pm) on August 6th. 

A 90-minute paid training is provided the week before the election and is required for all new workers.  Election equipment is available the week before the election for additional hands-on experience.  

Registered voters in Michigan who are over 18 years of age are eligible to apply at: Email applications to Township Clerk Brett Dreyfus at or mail to Township Clerk, Meridian Township (5151 Marsh Road, Okemos, MI, 48864). Citizens can also obtain an application at the Clerk’s Office in the Municipal Building or call 517.853.4300 to have an application mailed to them.
