On Tuesday, May 19th Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson announced that all registered voters in Michigan will receive an application to vote by mail in the August and November elections. 

The application mailing from the Bureau of Elections includes a cover letter with instructions from Secretary Benson. Once a voter signs their application, they can mail it or email a photo of it to their local clerk, whose contact information is included on the application. The application is also available for download at At the same website, voters can also register and join the permanent absent voter list so they always have the option to vote by mail.

Once a voter signs their application, they have several options to return it to the Meridian Township Clerk's Office:

  • Apply online. On Friday, June 12th the Secretary of State's Office announced the online absentee voter application platform. 

  • Mail it to the Meridian Township Clerk's Office at 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos, MI 48864

  • Drop it off in the 24 hour white mailbox outside the Municipal Building

  • Drop it off at the Portable Outdoor Service Center outside the Municipal Building

  • Email a photo or scan of the form to Meridian Township Clerk Brett Dreyfus at

  • Drop it off in person to the Meridian Township Clerk's Office

  • Fax it to the Meridian Township at 517.853.4096

The State Primary Election is Tuesday, August 4, 2020. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Please see the links below for additional election information: 

Voters in Meridian Township will see their local Township elected official positions on their 2020 ballots. All Meridian Township Board of Trustee positions (Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer and four Trustees) and the Township Park Commission (five Commissioners) are up for election in 2020. These are partisan offices. The four-year term of office for each position begins November 20, 2020 and ends November 20, 2024.

The State General Election is scheduled to take place, Tuesday, November 3rd. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
