Post Date:07/06/2020

Meridian Township Paved Trail Pathway News Item

UPDATE 7/8/20:  The contractor has now completed the paving on both the Okemos-Hulett Trail and the Central Park South-Gaylord C. Smith Ct. Trail. They are now working on the Nancy Moore Park trail around the ball-fields. From there they will move to the Raby Road Extension Trail.

Mike & Son Asphalt, working for Meridian, will be repairing and resurfacing several trails in the Township (Okemos-Hulett, Central Park South, Nancy Moore Ball-Field Loop, and Raby Connector Trail). These sections were identified by the Ingham County Trail Millage for rehabilitation as part of the original Trail Millage report. Funding for the work is 100% from the Trail Millage. They started prep work on Monday, June 29th on the Okemos-Hulett Trail, with paving to take place on Tuesday, June 30th. They will be setting traffic cones at all access points. Trail users are kindly asked to avoid the trails on the days that the work is taking place. From there, they will move to the Central Park South trail (connecting to Gaylord C. Smith Drive), followed by Nancy Moore Park. The Raby Connector will be the last trail to be completed.

They anticipate majority completion this week, though it will likely extend slightly into next week. The cones will be removed once they have finished a particular trail segment. Thus, if cones are present, please avoid the trail until the cones have been removed.

Construction updates and more information can be found on the 2020 Township Projects section of the Township website.
