Nemoka Drain Project Construction Notice

Post Date:07/30/2020 4:00 PM

Ingham County Clean Water Drain Commissioner Patrick E Lindemann

Project update from the Ingham County Drain Commissioner's Office regarding the Nemoka Drain Project:

The first phase of storm sewer installation for the Nemoka Drain will be starting soon on Colby, Edson and Potter Streets. Our contractor for the project, Jackson Dirt Works, will be mobilizing equipment and placing pipe and materials along the road right of way in anticipation of starting the work on Friday, July 31st and continuing for the next three to four weeks, weather and other factors permitting.

The work will include pulverizing the asphalt pavement along Edson and Potter Streets prior to trench excavation, and then installation of new storm pipes and structures underneath the road and in the road right of way, as well as infiltration swales at select locations within the road right of way. (Please see location map below.) Only emergency vehicles and local traffic will be able to pass through the area, as necessary. Driveways to properties may be temporarily inaccessible during the daily work but temporary gravel drive access at
the end of each day will be provided until final restoration of drives occurs. The pipe trenches across the road will be backfilled with the proper materials and topped temporarily with a gravel cap or recycled asphalt material. The temporary surfaces will be maintained by our contractor until all streets are ready for final paving.

For questions or concerns regarding this work or have special travel needs, please contact Dave Solberg, Ingham County Project Coordinator 517.719.4898 or Greg Lamkin, Resident Project Representative, LSG Engineers & Surveyors 517.414.0929.
