East Lansing-Meridian Water & Sewer Authority (ELMWSA) has released the 2024 Drinking Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer's Confidence Report (CCR), for the City of East Lansing and Meridian Township.

From a regulatory standpoint, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) oversee the quality and availability of the drinking water that is produced by ELMWSA.

In the 2024 calendar year, the drinking water produced by ELMWSA was in compliance with all state and federal regulations and no contaminant concentrations were found to exceed regulatory limits.

In 2024, ELMWSA processed and pumped 1.8 billion gallons of treated water to the two communities. In the water production process, ELMWSA operators run numerous routine chemical analyses to ensure the water stays fresh and pleasant tasting. Other testing is also performed by using outside labs, and this work tests for a wide range of regulated and unregulated contaminants.

The CCR is an annual water quality report that a community water system must provide to its customers. The CCR helps people make informed choices about the water they drink. The report lets people know what contaminants are in their drinking water, and how these contaminants may affect their health.

Please contact ELMWSA Manager Joel Martinez at 517.337.7535 or jmartinez@elmwsa.com for any questions or additional information.
