Missy Foran and David Foran have been selected as the winners of the 2025 Volunteer(s) of the Year Award for their contributions to Meridian Township.

The Volunteer of the Year program began in 2015 to acknowledge the exemplary volunteer work provided by Meridian Township’s Board and Commission members.

Missy and David have been the most dedicated volunteers the Meridian Township Farmers' Market could hope for, and have been instrumental in helping make the operation of the market more effective and efficient.

Starting in late October of 2020, the Forans have worked almost every single weekend the Market has been open; year-round, rain or snow, warm or cold – totaling close to 180 days of volunteering since they started.

In addition, they have managed the Market on one Wednesday and Saturday each year when Market Manager Tom Cary took a vacation, as well as provided great ideas and assistance in improving the function and feel of the Meridian Township Farmers Market.

"Missy and Dave were instrumental in ensuring the market ran smoothly and successfully during the week I served as interim market manager. Their dedication, reliability, and positive spirit make them an invaluable part of our market team," said Courtney Wisinski, Director of Parks and Recreation.
