The Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department is seeking proposals for quotes for floating islands that are designed to utilize plant uptake to help filter pond water. The islands need to help reduce the water pollution and to provide habitat for fish and other wildlife. The islands should float and adjust themselves to changing water levels. The Contractor shall furnish all materials and shipping. Installation will be performed in house by Parks staff. If your company does provide installation, please provide a quote separately.

BACKGROUND
1990 Central Park Drive is located in Meridian Township, Michigan (Okemos). The existing pond filters storm water runoff from the adjacent Meridian Mall and is in need of improvement.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Provide quote for floating islands/bio-islands that are 7-10’ wide and a total of 50’ in length.
- Deliver all materials.
- Provide all information relative to the floating islands (layers of matrix, UV protection, buoyancy and anchor plates).
CONTENT OF PROPOSAL
- Information regarding the company including qualifications
- Related project experience and references
- A not-to-exceed amount for the project
- One copy of the proposal
TIMELINE
- Bids due April 13, 2022 by 3:00 pm
- Select proposal April 22, 2022
- Receive and install May/June, 2022
JUDGING OF PROPOSALS
The Township will judge proposals received based on professional qualifications and experience, completeness of proposal, ability to meet project work schedule and total bid cost. The Township reserves the right to reject all bids, waive informalities or irregularities and accept the bid that it determines to be in the best interest of its residents.
SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS
One copy of the proposal shall be mailed, hand delivered or emailed by Wednesday, April 13, 2022, by 3:00 pm.
