Several issues impacted the launch of vertical construction of this site. Supply Chain stalls led to delays after the initial Township approval in 2022. The development team experienced additional delays while working through the approval process with the Ingham County Drain Office. That delay cost 9+ months of construction time to the project. Framing for the site has commenced and the project is expected to open mid to late Spring 2024.

The proposed development is a 2,153 square foot Consumers Credit Union branch with a drive-thru to be constructed within the Hobby Lobby shopping center located at 2763 Grand River Avenue. 

Construction would include the building with supporting utilities, parking, walkways and landscaping. The new building will contain two drive-thru lanes with Teller Plus units (remote tellers/ATM) to help serve members. The remoter teller portion of the Teller Plus units are typically open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday thru Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The remainder of the time, the units are utilized as a standard ATM unit.

A special use permit for the credit union has recently been granted and the credit union is now in site plan review. Project construction is set to begin in 2022 weather permitting.

Buddy's Pizza Okemos full opened April 14th 2022 in Meridian Township.

Buddy's Pizza received the approved site plan to demolish the existing building, previous location of Burger King to develop “Buddy’s Pizza”, August 10, 2020.

The 7,000 square foot development will bring the highly attractive Buddy’s Pizza Restaurant from Detroit to Meridian Township as the second location in the Lansing region. Demolition of the project commenced July 2021 to make way for the construction of the single use restaurant. During that construction phase additional drainage requirements set by Ingham County Drain office were proposed for the site to maintain adequate stormwater and ground water maintenance. The approval for that phase of the development came  through the Planning Commission and Community Development & Planning Department for review and final decision held at the Township Board.

Project is still underway and will receive certificate of occupancy after all internal inspections are complete. Projected opening April 2022.

The Douglas J Salon located at 4663 Ardmore Avenue is renovating their building.

The renovation will include the installation of a new heated concreate walkway, the replacement of an existing canopy with a new vestibule, and the replacement of the north end pedestrian bridge.

White Water Express/ Hypershine car wash is a new addition on Grand River Ave, across the street from Whole Foods. This new drive thru car wash received a special use permit from the Planning Commission in April 2021. the 3,300 square foot car wash is an especially interesting addition near the announced Trader Joe's development. Car wash facilities are an environmentally safe way to maintain your car and keep contaminants from running into our storm water systems. 

The new bakery opened August 2022 at 2090 West Grand River Avenue, in the westernmost space of a multitenant commercial building. Nothing Bundt Cakes, has engaged heavily with the Lansing Chamber and regional partners to establish themselves in Meridian Township.
