Ingham County Requesting Public Comment on Draft Materials Management Plan

Ingham County's Draft Materials Management Plan (MMP) is open for public comment through November 24, 2026.

The new MMP will replace Ingham County’s existing Solid Waste Management Plan and will establish long-term goals and strategies for improving recycling and composting access, reducing waste sent to landfills, and strengthening overall materials management systems across the County.

The plan will also include facility siting strategies, a county profile, and mechanisms to enforce and fund the MMP.

To submit a comment, please email it to sustainability@ingham.org. If possible, please send page numbers and specific language changes.

Comments can also be provided at a public hearing on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:30 pm at the Ingham County Courthouse (341 S. Jefferson St., Mason).
