Volunteer Opportunities

Every effort contributes significantly to maintaining a sustainable and welcoming community with the highest quality of life for our residents. Businesses, non-profit organizations, service groups, and individual residents all play a key role in supporting and maintaining an exceptional, family-friendly environment.

We are very appreciative of everyone who volunteers and contributes to making Meridian Township a prime community. We thank you for serving the community.

Please see the list below for a variety of volunteer opportunities within the Township.

The Meridian Conservation Corps (MCC) is a community program dedicated to the conservation of 1,700 acres of parks and preserves in Meridian Township. This work is done with one full-time staff member, two part-time staff members, and hundreds of MCC volunteers who participate in workdays throughout the year.

The Meridian Township Park Commission is seeking community-minded individuals and groups of all ages to adopt one of the community’s local parks as a “Friend of the Park”.

This ongoing program asks that volunteers commit to overseeing a local park, serving as the Township’s “eyes and ears,” and to develop suggestions, cleanup activities, and improvement projects to enhance a site’s appearance and public use. “Friend of the Park” volunteers can be individuals, neighborhood associations, service clubs, or youth groups.

Having this kind of special attention has been invaluable. Residents have conducted routine clean-up projects, created and maintained flower gardens, organized fundraising efforts, and groomed trails.

Meridian Regional Recycling Events take place in April and September:

Residents, volunteers, and co-sponsors helped collect and recycle, re-use, and/or safely dispose of old stuff. On Recycling Day, drivers will drop off their goods at designated stations, where volunteers will help them unpack, direct traffic, and distribute information.
