Marshall Park Bioswale and Park Beautification Project

The Township is finalizing plans to construct a series of bioswales inĀ Marshall Park in 2026 to address persistent, severe flooding in the area.

The bioswales will connect to the existing swale adjacent to Marshall Park. By using soils and native vegetation, the four bioswales will naturally filter stormwater, improving the water quality of Lake Lansing and reducing flooding in the park, nearby private properties, and single-family homes.

The project will also add new walking trail loops throughout Marshall Park, allowing visitors to explore the bioswales, playground, basketball court, and other park amenities.
