The Corridor Improvement Authority (CIA) was established to address and prevent deterioration in business districts, promote historic preservation, authorize the acquisition and disposal of property interests, and facilitate the creation and implementation of development plans within these districts. The CIA also aims to stimulate economic growth while adhering to the powers, duties, and limitations outlined in Public Act 280 of 2005.
The CIA is committed to making the Grand River Avenue corridor in Meridian Township a premier business and recreation destination in the Tri-County region. The Authority develops programs and projects to enhance the streetscape and foster collaboration among property owners, business owners, and residents along the corridor.
The CIA is composed of five to nine members, each serving four-year terms. At least two members represent local residents, while the remaining members are business or landowners along the corridor. All members bring experience in business, real estate, law, finance, or development.
